Job summary

Writer is seeking a senior software engineer to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable AI-powered backend platforms. You will build and evolve the integration client ecosystem, connect enterprise tools and data sources, and own high-throughput APIs for reliable agent workflows.

Based in a hybrid role across NYC/SF/Seattle hubs, you will mentor engineers, define technical strategy, and partner with product leadership to translate business goals into durable platform capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building production backend systems.
• Experience designing and shipping API-driven platform services and distributed systems.
• Hands-on authentication and security patterns for third-party integrations.
• Proven cloud-native experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure with containers and CI/CD.
• Strong observability and reliability engineering with SLOs/SLAs and incident response.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, mentor others, and drive technical decisions.
