Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Agentic Commerce to join a greenfield backend squad building secure, real-time services.

You will enable AI agents, merchants, payment platforms, and risk systems to work together with robust APIs, tokenization, and authentication. You will own features end-to-end, focusing on high-trust payment workflows, observability, and scalable architectures across AWS/GCP environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production software engineering experience.
• Experience with cloud-based systems (AWS/GCP) and scalable services.
• Interest in AI agents and agentic workflows.
• Strong API design, testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure coding.
• Ability to collaborate across product, architecture, security, and platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure backend services for agentic commerce.
• Own features from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Contribute to design reviews, production readiness, and documentation.
• Develop merchant-facing APIs, SDKs, and developer tooling.
