Job summary

Worldpay is seeking a Technical Lead for Agentic Commerce Engineering to shape the future of autonomous commerce. You will own secure checkout and payment APIs, define platform patterns for agent identity, authentication, and tokenization, and lead a greenfield squad with hands-on technical leadership.

You will mentor engineers, drive design reviews, and influence cross-functional teams while building scalable, secure, and observable systems for real-time payments on a global scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience including architecture and production ownership of distributed services or APIs
• Experience leading design reviews, mentoring engineers and making tradeoffs in ambiguous product areas
• Experience designing API-first platforms with clear contracts and strong developer experience
• Practical understanding of AI-agent systems and safe, deterministic payment flows

Responsibilities

• Define and build the infrastructure for agentic commerce, including secure checkout and payment APIs
• Lead a greenfield squad, set technical direction and oversee architecture decisions
• Mentor engineers, conduct reviews, and drive engineering standards across the team
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to shape interoperable agent-led payments
