Job summary

Worldpay is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Agentic Commerce to help shape the future of autonomous commerce. You’ll join a greenfield backend squad building secure, real-time payment infrastructure that enables AI agents, merchants, and risk systems to work together in real time.

You’ll own API/SDK development, design cloud-based services on AWS or GCP, and ensure security, performance, and observability. 5+ years of experience and interest in AI agent workflows are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with production services.
• Experience building cloud-based systems on AWS or GCP.
• Strong API design, testing, and security fundamentals.
• Interest in AI agents and agentic workflows.
• Ability to collaborate across product, security, and platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure, reliable backend services for agentic commerce.
• Develop merchant-facing APIs, SDKs, documentation, and samples.
• Own features from design through testing, deployment, and production support.
• Work with AI agent integrations, tokenization, authentication, and fraud signals.
• Ensure performance, observability, and security across services.
