Job summary

Salesforce is seeking highly experienced Senior, Lead, and Principal backend engineers to own cross-cutting system problems across the Super Agent and Integration & Platform teams within Agentforce Operations. You will architect, implement, and scale data integrations and backend services that power enterprise-grade automation.

You’ll work on highly impactful backends, partner with product management, and drive observability, reliability, and performance at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years (Senior), 5+ years (Lead), 8+ years (Principal) backend engineering experience.
• Related technical degree required.
• Deep expertise in backend engineering: data modeling, DB performance tuning, state management, API design, concurrency, and scalability.
• Experience designing and maintaining production-grade data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Expertise in at least one modern language (Java, Python, Go).
• Experience designing robust REST APIs and Webhooks.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, high-availability architectures, event queues, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience using AI tools in development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and prioritize foundational investments across the Super Agent backend, partnering with engineering leadership to sequence them against product delivery.
• Own the hardest cross-cutting system problems, from architectural decomposition to cross-team interface design, with hands-on contribution when needed.
• Build shared understanding of system health and risk, establishing frameworks and observability for informed investment decisions.
• Raise and maintain engineering quality through pragmatic standards, guardrails, and practices to prevent regressions.
• Architect and implement powerful integrations between the core platform and Salesforce ecosystem products (Mulesoft, Flow).
• Lead design and implementation of scalable data export pipelines, integrating CSV, REST outputs with Data Cloud and Informatica.
• Optimize ETL pipelines for daily, self-serve data synchronization with Data Cloud.
• Design and build simplified, performant APIs and webhooks, including abstracted equivalents of GraphQL endpoints.
