Job summary

Salesforce, a leader in AI-driven CRM, seeks a Senior Member of Technical Staff to shape the Agentforce backend and platform capabilities. You will drive architecture, set standards, and partner with PM, Research, and Platform teams to push enterprise AI boundaries.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering with focus on large-scale or AI/ML backend systems.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python with production experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining production services on AWS or other cloud platforms (GCP, Azure).
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems concepts: consistency, fault tolerance, observability, performance tuning.
• Experience designing RESTful and/or gRPC APIs for latency-sensitive workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to align across teams.
• Passion for mentoring and building high-performing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Technical & Engineering Leadership: enforce best-in-class practices across architecture reviews, code quality, scalability, and security for AI platform services.
• AI Infrastructure: design, build, and operate high-performance backend systems for Agentforce including orchestration, reasoning pipelines, tool invocation, memory services.
• Architecture & Strategy: define and evolve the long-term technical roadmap for Agentforce engines and experiences.
• Emerging AI Technology: prototype and integrate AI/ML technologies to enhance product capabilities and developer experience.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with Product Management, Applied AI Research, and Platform teams to translate requirements into scalable systems.
• Mentorship: elevate engineering talent through code reviews and architecture guidance.
