Procore Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to lead backend initiatives within the Financial Platform and Insights Division, focusing on scalable, resilient systems and AI-enhanced software for a global customer base.

You’ll design distributed services using Java and Ruby, manage data streams with Apache Kafka, optimize PostgreSQL, and build interactive frontend components with React, in a hybrid Austin, TX role with immediate start.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years backend development using Java with OOP fundamentals.
• Experience designing event-driven distributed systems with Kafka.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL indexing, query optimization, and schema design.
• Experience building React/TypeScript apps is a plus.
• Experience with AI capabilities or integrating AI in workflows.
• Strong knowledge of microservice architecture, RESTful APIs, and TDD.
• Pragmatic, curious mindset balancing performance and business goals.

Responsabilidades

• Architect, build, and scale distributed backend services using Java and Ruby.
• Design, implement, and maintain high-throughput data streams with Kafka.
• Optimize PostgreSQL databases through schema design and tuning.
• Develop and integrate AI-enabled backend features and workflows.
• Build interactive frontend components with React.
• Collaborate with product, design, and architecture teams on services.
• Own production delivery including deployment, observability, and tracing.
• Write robust code following Test-Driven Development (TDD).
