Job summary

Procore Technologies seeks a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead the Workflows platform, shaping long‑term technical direction and reference patterns. You will actively code and design while guiding multiple teams toward scalable, AI‑enabled construction SaaS platform goals.

The role is hybrid, based in Austin, TX, reporting to Engineering Director, with immediate start and an emphasis on high‑impact architectural decisions, scalable systems, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with distributed, full‑stack systems.
• 5+ years at principal level or above with organization‑wide scope.
• Proven track record defining multi‑year technical strategies and platform consolidation.

Responsibilities

• Set architectural direction and patterns across engineering to resolve high‑leverage problems.
• Mentor Principal and Staff engineers and lead architecture reviews and councils.
• Define AI‑native engineering approaches from SDLC to production agentic systems.
• Collaborate with VPs, product/UX/business executives to shape strategy and align teams.
• Remain hands‑on to prototype high‑risk bets and produce expemplars in code and docs.
