Job summary

AnaVation is seeking a senior Azure Engineer with an active Secret clearance to join a Federal-ready program. This full-time, remote-friendly role involves designing and managing Azure infrastructure, building automated pipelines, and enforcing security and governance standards.

The candidate will mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay current with Azure advancements, with occasional travel to Washington, DC as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
• Five (5) years of hands-on experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Active US Public Trust clearance; US Citizenship required.
• Advanced experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Strong proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and automated deployment workflows.
• Deep understanding of Azure services across networking, security, compute, storage, and containers (AKS).
• Expertise in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
• Experience implementing cloud governance frameworks, identity architectures (Azure AD), RBAC, policies, and security baselines.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze complex distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with diverse technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
• Architect and implement automated deployment pipelines integrating IaC with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Develop and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance standards across Azure environments.
• Lead complex cloud infrastructure projects focusing on automation, monitoring, resilience, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Troubleshoot advanced Azure infrastructure issues including networking, identity, compute, storage, and AKS.
• Mentor junior/mid-level cloud engineers and provide leadership on IaC and modernization.
• Maintain deployment and architecture documentation; stay updated on Azure platform advancements.
