Job summary

AnaVation is seeking a senior-level Azure Engineer with an active Secret clearance to support a new digital evidence platform for a Federal government client. The role is full-time and can be performed remotely with occasional travel to Washington, DC.

You will design, build, and secure Azure infrastructure, implement automated deployment pipelines, and mentor junior engineers. Join a high-performing team delivering enterprise-scale cloud solutions, governance, and modernization across Azure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field.
• 5+ years designing/managing cloud infrastructure with focus on Microsoft Azure.
• US Citizenship; Public Trust clearance required.
• Advanced experience with IaC tools: Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Strong CI/CD, Git, and automated deployment workflows.
• Deep understanding of Azure services across networking, security, compute, storage, and containers (AKS).
• Scripting with PowerShell or Python.
• Experience implementing cloud governance, identity architectures (Azure AD), RBAC, policies, and security baselines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Architect and implement automated deployment pipelines with CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Develop and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance across Azure environments.
• Lead complex cloud infrastructure projects with a focus on automation, monitoring, resilience, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot advanced Azure infrastructure issues including networking, identity, compute, storage, and AKS.
• Mentor junior/mid-level cloud engineers and provide IaC/cloud modernization guidance.
• Maintain deployment/architecture documentation and best practices.
• Stay current on Azure advancements and promote reliability and performance improvements.

Description of Task to be Performed

AnaVation is seeking a senior-level Azure Engineer with an active Secret clearance. This a newly-awarded contract, so the selected candidate must be a self-starter who is eager to quickly integrate with a high-performing team responsible for accrediting and implementing a new digital evidence platform for our Federal Government client. This is a full-time position that can be performed remotely with occasional travel to Washington DC as needed.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design, build, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure leveraging IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
• Architect and implement automated deployment pipelines integrating IaC frameworks with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Develop and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance standards across Azure environments
• Lead high- complexity cloud infrastructure projects, driving best practices in automation, monitoring, resilience, and cost optimization

• Mentor junior and mid-level cloud engineers; provide technical leadership and thought guidance on IaC and cloud modernization
• Maintain documentation for deployments, architectures, patterns, and operational processes
• Stay current on Azure platform advancements and advocate for tools or practices that enhance reliability, performance, or engineering efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
• Five (5) years of hands- on experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure
• Clearance:
  • Public Trust; US Citizenship is required
• Other Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Advanced experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM
  • Strong proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and automated deployment workflows
  • Deep understanding of Azure services across networking, security, compute, storage, and containers (AKS)
  • Expertise in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python
  • Experience implementing cloud governance frameworks, identity architectures (Azure AD), RBAC, policies, and security baselines
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze complex distributed systems
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with diverse technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-400, or equivalent)
• Experience with platform engineering and building reusable infrastructure modules
• Familiarity cloud cost optimization strategies
• Experience working in Agile environments
