Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a hybrid team in Bethesda, MD. The role centers on designing, building, and operating secure and scalable Microsoft Azure infrastructure supporting enterprise workloads and modern platforms.

You will own reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of production Azure environments, implement Infrastructure as Code, and collaborate with IT, security, and development teams to deliver resilient cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience operating production cloud environments.
• Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity concepts.
• Experience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code in Azure.
• Experience designing secure, private Azure networking architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure including VMs, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and core services.
• Own reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of production Azure environments.
• Triage and resolve infrastructure incidents across compute, storage, and networking (IaC).
• Build and manage Azure infrastructure using IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or equivalent).
• Promote repeatable, version-controlled deployments with peer review.
• Design secure Azure network architectures and hub-and-spoke designs.
• Ensure connectivity patterns for PaaS and IaaS workloads.
