Job summary

Piper Companies seeks a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer (Azure) to design, deploy, and optimize Azure infrastructure for secure, scalable cloud environments. This onsite role in Bethesda, MD emphasizes deployment automation, security, and collaboration with IT and security teams.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in infrastructure and strong Azure expertise, including IaC and CI/CD, to support both enterprise IT workloads and modern application platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar).
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity, and security concepts.
• Experience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and support complex cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure across compute, storage, and networking.
• Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Implement secure Azure networking architectures including Private Link and hub-and-spoke models.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency solutions (Azure Backup, Site Recovery).
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure reliability and performance of cloud environments.
• Partner with application teams to support PaaS services and CI/CD enablement.
• Collaborate with Security, IT Operations, and stakeholders on architecture and changes.
