Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Architect to support a high-visibility federal mission focused on designing, securing, and modernizing enterprise cloud infrastructure within a highly regulated environment. Hybrid work in Washington, DC is required with an Active Secret Clearance and Security+ certification.

Responsibilities include designing secure Azure environments, leading migrations, IaC implementation, and collaboration with government stakeholders to deliver

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT/infrastructure experience.
• 5+ years Azure experience in DoD IL5/IL6 or equivalent high-security gov environments.
• Active Secret Clearance and Security+ certification.
• Willingness to work onsite in Washington, DC at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement secure Azure environments supporting federal needs.
• Lead on-premises to Azure migrations with planning, dependency mapping, replication, and validation.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM templates; automate with PowerShell/Ansible.
• Create architecture diagrams and technical documentation using Microsoft Visio.
• Ensure Azure environments comply with DISA STIGs and federal security requirements.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, engineers, cybersecurity teams, and other personnel.
• Lead architecture reviews, design sessions, and customer-facing presentations.
