Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Architect to design, secure, and modernize enterprise cloud infra for a DoD program. Hybrid work in Washington, D.C. with senior technical leadership across Azure architecture, migrations, networking, identity, IaC, and cybersecurity initiatives.

The role emphasizes Azure IL5/IL6 environments, Entra ID governance, ASR, IaC, and strong DoD security alignment, with active Secret clearance and Security+ required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT/infra experience in professional settings.
• 5+ years hands-on Azure experience in DoD IL5/IL6 or similar high-security envs.
• Extensive Azure architecture design for enterprise/federal contexts.
• Hands-on Azure networking: VNets, subnets, NSGs, VPN, ExpressRoute, load balancers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Entra ID (RBAC, CA, governance).
• Experience with Azure Site Recovery and enterprise migrations.
• IaC using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates.
• Automation with PowerShell and Ansible; CI/CD via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Security posture aligned to DISA STIGs/DoD requirements.
• Active Secret clearance and CompTIA Security+.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement secure Azure environments for DoD missions.
• Lead migrations from on-prem to Azure and validate post-migration state.
• Develop IaC and automate deployments and configurations.
• Maintain cloud diagrams and documentation with Visio; provide technical leadership.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders and teams to deliver cloud solutions.
• Guide architecture reviews, customer discussions, and SME leadership.
