Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer (Azure) to design, deploy, and optimize Azure infrastructure for enterprise IT workloads and modern apps. This on-site role supports secure, scalable cloud environments in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities include building IaC with Terraform, Bicep, and ARM, implementing secure Azure networking, backups, DR, and CI/CD enablement, collaborating with security and IT partners to ensure reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar).
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity, and security concepts.
• Experience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and support complex cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure across compute, storage, and networking
• Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
• Implement secure Azure networking architectures including Private Link and hub-and-spoke models
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency solutions (Azure Backup, Site Recovery)
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure reliability and performance of cloud environments
• Partner with application teams to support PaaS services and CI/CD enablement
• Collaborate with Security, IT Operations, and stakeholders on architecture and changes
