Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in software or data engineering with a strong AWS focus.
• Architecting cloud data platform migrations in production enterprise or healthcare.
• Experience selecting AWS data services to meet reporting requirements.
• Delivering analytics solutions for non-technical users.
• Hands-on AWS data services: S3, Athena, Glue, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Strong SQL for relational queries over XML/JSON.
• Experience with XML-heavy data stores and transforming XML at scale.
• Knowledge of BI tools (e.g., QuickSight) and AWS analytics.
• Git and GitHub workflow proficiency; CI/CD with AWS tools.
• IaC with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Ability to communicate architecture decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Gathering business reporting requirements into data models.
• Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Lead the healthcare data platform modernization.
• Evolve MSSQL XML object store to scalable AWS data architecture for SQL-based reporting.
• Evaluate AWS data strategies and optimal storage architectures.
• Design a reporting layer for SQL queries via familiar tooling.
• Architect migration path for XML data into AWS with partitioning strategies.
• Build and maintain AWS data catalog, schemas, and metadata management.
• Optimize query performance and cost across AWS services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into data models.
• Coordinate with C#/.Net engineers for data flow from EDI pipelines.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS tooling and IaC practices.
• Document architecture decisions and data dictionaries.
