Job summary

Verisys is seeking a hands‑on Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep AWS expertise to design, secure, and scale the cloud and on‑prem infrastructure behind our healthcare credentialing platform. This remote role requires strong ownership and the ability to shift between cloud engineering, systems administration, and development tasks.

You will be the Linux SME, manage Windows Server environments, administer our Nutanix stack, and automate with Python, PowerShell, Bash, and AWS Systems

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or systems administration.
• 3+ years supporting production workloads in AWS.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong Python development skills for automation and AWS integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure, highly available AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, IAM, ECS, S3, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch, Systems Manager).
• Manage infrastructure as code (CloudFormation) and support CI/CD pipelines for container builds and deployments.
• Serve as the Linux subject matter expert: provisioning, hardening, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Administer Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, IIS) on‑premises and in EC2.
• Administer Nutanix on‑premises with Prism Element/Central; handle health, capacity planning, upgrades, and data protection.
• Automate configuration and patching with Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Systems Manager.
• Own SSL/TLS certificate renewals and installations across IIS, Linux, Postfix, and AWS.
• Maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting; participate in on‑call; support HITRUST and SOC 2.
• Deep AWS expertise with security, networking, and best practices.
• Strong Linux and Windows administration; comfortable wearing many hats.
