Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Integrated Flight Systems Product Line Engineering group. You will design, integrate, certify, deploy and sustain avionics systems on large business jets and Air Transport platforms, coordinating with software, systems, and certification teams in an Agile environment.

This onsite role in Cedar Rapids requires a STEM degree with 5+ years experience (or advanced degree with 3+ years), hands-on IMA system experience,

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of experience or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) at the system level is required.
• Strong understanding of Avionics, aircraft Systems, and Subsystems.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Previous experience taking ownership of assigned work and delivering quality results.

Responsibilities

• Design and requirements development activities.
• On-site execution of requirements-based testing in a lab environment.
• Support testing, test script development, and scenario-based testing.
• Troubleshoot and report issues from development cycles; report to OEMs as needed.
• Develop and execute test scripts; validate system functionality and performance.
• Produce PDR/CDR packages on aircraft features for OEM presentations.
• Create system certification level documentation.
• Coordinate SW/HW work packages and avionics features across subsystems.
• Estimate and bid engineering efforts; provide program status updates.
