Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks highly skilled engineers to develop and decompose system requirements for avionics products. You will define integration strategies, create test plans, and perform hands-on integration of software, embedded software, and hardware in lab environments.

You will execute hardware-in-the-loop tests, troubleshoot complex issues, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Onsite in Cedar Rapids, you will support fielded systems and lifecycle sustainment with a strong focus on

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience decomposing system requirements and allocating to subsystems.
• Experience integrating software and hardware onto target platforms.
• Ability to develop, execute and troubleshoot system integration tests in a lab or HIL setup.
• Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop product-level requirements from customer and industry specifications for software and hardware.
• Define integration and verification strategies; create test plans and reports.
• Perform hands-on integration of software, embedded software, and hardware in lab environments.
• Execute software integration testing on development and flight-like hardware.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across hardware, software, firmware, and interfaces.
• Support fielded avionics systems through troubleshooting and lifecycle sustainment.
