Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a passionate Senior Safety Engineer to join our Reliability, Maintainability, and System Safety team. You’ll ensure avionics systems for Air Transport are safe, reliable, and ready for modern aviation.

You will influence system-level design decisions, drive safety milestones, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver trusted flight-critical solutions. This hybrid role is based in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Qualifications

• Requires university degree and 8+ years of experience or advanced degree and 5+ years of experience.
• Experience in aircraft systems, hardware, or software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead programs through ARP4761 safety assessment process.
• Perform/peer review: FHAs, PSSAs, SSAs, FTAs, CMAs.
• Support safety requirements during development activity.
• Mentor and train safety engineers.
