Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Senior Systems Safety Engineer to join our Reliability, Maintainability, and System Safety team in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on ensuring avionics and power systems are safe, reliable, and ready for modern aviation, working across cross-functional teams to influence system-level design decisions.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience in aircraft systems (avionics, electric power, etc.) or reliability, safety engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil safety assessment process in accordance with ARP4761 including FHAs, PSSAs, SSAs, FTAs, CMAs.
• Support systems, hardware, and software engineering teams in defining system safety requirements.
• Review design and development documentation for safety critical equipment.
