Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Safety Engineer to join our Reliability, Maintainability, and System Safety team. You will help ensure avionics systems serving Air Transport customers are safe, reliable, and ready for modern aviation challenges.

You will influence system-level design decisions, guide programs through safety milestones, and mentor others while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Hybrid work arrangements apply with onsite/offsite balance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with minimum 5 years of experience.
• Experience in aircraft systems, hardware, or software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead through ARP4761 civil safety assessment processes with stakeholders and leaders.
• Review System Safety Plans, FHAs, PSSAs, SSAs, FTAs, CMAs.
• Support systems, hardware, and software teams in defining safety requirements.
• Analyze continued airworthiness risk for field issues.
• Review design/development docs for safety critical equipment.
• Mentor junior safety engineers and develop discipline expertise.
