Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to drive radar and avionics program development for next-generation aircraft weather radar systems. You will coordinate with Flight Operations, manage configurations, and oversee test plans to ensure certification readiness.

The role emphasizes MBSE, DOORS requirements, and MATLAB-based simulations. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in aerospace systems and strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (sciences, technology, engineering or math)
  • 7+ years in Systems Engineering (Avionics, Radar, Aerospace)
  • Experience in system-level analysis and optimization
  • Knowledge of avionics, RF/aerospace systems and industry standards
  • Experience with MBSE approaches and model-based design is a plus
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools
  • US person status required: citizen, permanent resident or protected status

Responsibilities

  • Drive design, development, implementation and advancement of radar and avionics technologies
  • Collaborate with Flight Operations to integrate radar systems into flight-test aircraft
  • Manage software versions and configuration parameters per regulations
  • Design and oversee flight test plans to validate radar performance
  • Analyze flight data to ensure system requirements before certification
  • Collaborate with systems, software, hardware and test engineers to meet customer requirements
  • Author high-level system requirements in DOORS
  • Conduct system-level analysis and optimization
  • Use MATLAB-based simulation tools for validation
  • Perform systems integration, verification and validation
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies
