Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a highly experienced Flight Test Engineer for Radar focused test efforts across aircraft platforms. The candidate will serve as a technical authority for radar test planning, execution, and data analysis, coordinating with design, maintenance, test operations, and the customer to ensure safety and performance objectives are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of related professional/military experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance with background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance.
  • Willingness to work overtime, odd hour shifts, and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and publish Detailed Test Plans (DTPs), procedures, and schedules for radar performance and functional requirements.
  • Lead radar test planning with cross-disciplinary teams to align objectives, resources, and risk mitigation.
  • Define test configurations, instrumentation, and data collection requirements for radar subsystems.
  • Review traceability matrices to ensure completeness and compliance with verification plans.
  • Perform technical analysis of radar performance and prepare evaluation reports.
  • Support test card/checklist development with design, test ops, and safety.
  • Conduct Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and briefings to stakeholders.
  • Provide real-time mission control room support via IADS for safe, efficient testing.
  • Maintain and report testing metrics, flight hour utilization, and constraints.
