Blue Origin seeks an experienced avionics engineer to design and own analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuits for space systems. You will lead boards through the full lifecycle—from concept and requirements to test, verification, and production release.

The role requires strong skills in signal integrity, power, and high-reliability designs, with hands-on hardware work and collaboration across engineering teams to advance Blue Origin lunar programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related discipline.
  • Broad understanding of electronics hardware development incl. complex circuit cards, consumer electronics, wireless devices, or aerospace products.
  • Experience with analog or mixed-signal design: analysis, simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and part selection.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and board layout principles.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, FPGAs, ADCs, DACs, op amps, power supplies, memory, MOSFETs.
  • Understanding of communication methods such as RS232, RS422, I2C, SPI, LVDS, Ethernet, CAN, PCIe.
  • Willingness to work hands-on independently and in teams through development to production.
  • Ability to earn trust and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and own avionics circuit designs across digital, analog, and mixed-signal domains.
  • Own avionics boards throughout lifecycle from concept to production release.
  • Support architecture trade studies, performance characterization, and device selection.
  • Assist in risk analyses (FMECA, WCCA) and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
  • Contribute to technology development, safety initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Communicate status, risks, and challenges to management.
  • Collaborate with engineers on advanced avionics for Blue Origin lunar vehicles.
