Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Wilson, NC is seeking a Mechanical Repair Technician III (Avionics) to test, troubleshoot and repair avionics units. You will work on a 1st shift, Mon-Fri 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with overtime potential.

Responsibilities include repair, soldering, and ensuring compliance with company and FAA safety standards. Ideal candidates have HS diploma or GED with electronics experience, and prefer an AAS in Electronics or related military experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 2 years relevant electronics experience.
• Experience in electronics within a manufacturing or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Test avionics units for load, polarity, voltage, current, inductance and circuit continuity.
• Troubleshoot analog and digital circuits to component level.
• Perform routine repairs on avionics equipment including surface mount and through-hole soldering.
• Maintain materials, equipment and workspace in a clean, orderly condition.
• Follow EH&S, Ethics, ITC and HR policies at Collins Aerospace.
• Complete assigned tasks within the scope and skill level of the job.
• Check work methods and results for conformance to standards.
• Report progress and conditions to supervisor and leadership.
• Handle repairs through the service center from receipt to packaging for return to the customer.
• Wear PPE and attend EH&S trainings as required.
• Report unsafe practices and conditions to ensure prompt resolution.
