Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an Electrical Harness Design Engineer to develop electrical harnesses for spaceflight systems, create SID/BID/WID diagrams, and implement 3D routed harness data in Creo. You will ensure EMI/derating compliance and contribute to safe, repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities include harness design for power, RF, and data; creating detailed drawings; and supporting assembly and testing of harnesses, with emphasis on high-quality hardware integration.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, or related technical subject area.
• 8+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry.
• Familiarity with Creo, Zuken and Windchill.
• Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.
• Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620A and NASA-STD-8739.4.
• Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal.
• Create Block Interconnect Diagrams and Wiring diagrams utilizing Zuken.
• Create 3D routed harness data files utilizing Creo (Pro/Engineer) Cabling.
• Create harness detail and installation drawings including 2D flat harness drawings from the 3D harness data sets.
• Design and integration of harness support brackets.
• Support design configuration development and trade studies.
• Provide technical guidance for hardware installation.
• Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses.
• Report on activity schedule and technical status.
• Identify opportunities for technical improvements.
