Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville is seeking an experienced Harness Design Engineer to develop and document electrical harnesses for the Mk1 Vehicle Electrical Harness Design team. You will create WID, harness drawings, and 3D routed data, influencing safe, repeatable spaceflight.

The role requires 7+ years in aerospace harness design, experience with Creo and Zuken/Windchill, and strong knowledge of derating and industry standards. On-site position with competitive compensation and full benefits.

Qualifications

B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related technical subject area.
7+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry.
Familiarity with Creo, Zuken or Windchill, or similar CAD routing software.
Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.
Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620A and NASA-STD-8739.4 harness standards.
Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration using 3-D CAD software.

Responsibilities

Design of electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal.
Selection of harness components, connectors, backshells, cable and wire.
Create Wiring diagrams utilizing Zuken E3.
Create 3D routed harness data files utilizing Creo Cabling.
Create harness detail and installation drawings from 3D data.
Design and integration of harness support brackets and hardware.
Support design configuration development and trade studies.
