Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle Area is seeking an Avionics Harness Design Engineer III to lead electrical harness design for spaceflight systems. You will develop wiring interconnect diagrams, 3D routed harness data, and installation drawings for the Mk1 Vehicle Electrical Harness Design team.

The role requires strong 3-D CAD skills, harness derating knowledge, and experience with aerospace standards; the work environment emphasizes safety, collaboration, and spaceflight reliability.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry.
• Familiar with Creo, Zuken or Windchill; experience with other high-end CAD routing software is a plus.
• Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620A and NASA-STD-8739.4.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signals.
• Select harness components, connectors, backshells, cables and wires.
• Create Wiring diagrams using Zuken E3.
• Create 3D routed harness data files using Creo.
• Produce harness installation drawings and 2D flat harness drawings.
• Support harness installation and integration.
• Provide technical guidance for hardware installation.
• Report activity schedule and technical status.
