Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Electrical Harness Design Engineer to create and integrate electrical harnesses for spaceflight systems. You will develop SID/BID/WID diagrams, 3D routed harness data in Creo, and detailed installation drawings to support safe, repeatable spaceflight hardware.

The role emphasizes engineering leadership, adherence to IPC/WHMA standards, and collaboration across disciplines to advance lunar and crewed spaceflight programs.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related technical subject area.
• 8+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry.
• Familiar with Creo, Zuken and Windchill.
• Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.
• Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4.
• Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Design of electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal.
• Selection of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire.
• Understanding and application of EMI/RFI and harness shielding.
• Create Block Interconnect Diagrams and Wiring diagrams utilizing Zuken.
• Create 3D routed harness data files utilizing Creo (Pro/Engineer) Cabling.
• Create harness detail and installation drawings including 2D flat harness drawings from the 3D harness data sets.
• Design and integration of harness support brackets.
• Support design configuration development and trade studies.
• Provide technical guidance for hardware installation.
• Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses.
• Report on activity schedule and technical status.
• Identify opportunities for technical improvements.
