Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior avionics hardware engineer to lead the full lifecycle of lunar avionics products. You will own architecture, requirements, design, integration, verification, production, and sustainment of flight computers, I/O units, embedded controllers, and related hardware.

You will supervise bench-level testing, troubleshooting, and risk reduction, collaborating with engineers across electrical, mechanical, firmware, FPGA, and systems teams to deliver safe, affordable lunar

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years designing, developing, building, integrating, testing, or verifying avionics/hardware products.
  • Experience owning complex hardware products through full lifecycle.
  • Expertise in flight computers, embedded controllers, I/O hardware, analog/digital electronics, power electronics, FPGA-based systems, or packaging.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development and technical delivery of complex avionics hardware products, architecture, interfaces, verification, and production path.
  • Provide hands-on leadership through design, build, integration, verification, qualification, production, and sustainment; balance performance, reliability, safety, cost, schedule, and manufacturability.
  • Lead hardware test and anomaly-resolution, bench troubleshooting with equipment, root-cause analysis, corrective-action development, risk assessment, and verification of solutions.
  • Serve as primary technical integrator across electrical hardware, mechanical enclosures, embedded software, FPGA, controls, systems, manufacturing, suppliers, test, and mission assurance.
  • Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, improve engineering methods, and drive product/process improvements.
