Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician in Los Angeles, CA to lead a team of technicians and ensure high-quality results. The role emphasizes analytical thinking, problem solving, and effective communication to coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and an FAA Airframe & Powerplant license, with 8+ years in aviation maintenance and 4+ years on program-specific airframes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
• Aircraft specific factory training is preferred.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program specific airframes.
• This position requires minimal supervision and will lead small groups in daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete the necessary jobs/tasks with good judgement.
• Train/mentor technicians assigned to projects and supervise daily workload.
• Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems, including removal/installations and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on the aircraft when designated.
• Coordinate projects and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Direct the work and flow of multiple projects and ensure schedule and quality.
