Job summary

West Star Aviation seeks a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to guide a team of technicians in delivering high-quality maintenance and repair work on aircraft. You will supervise tasks, mentor staff, and ensure adherence to FAA guidelines while coordinating with project managers and customers.

This role requires 8+ years of aviation maintenance experience and an A&P license, with willingness to work in a fast-paced hangar environment and weekends/overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program-specific airframes.
• High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License required.
• This position requires minimal supervision and will lead small groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians to produce timely, high-quality results.
• Direct project flow and turnover between shifts.
• Identify opportunities to reduce aircraft turn time.
• Train and mentor technicians on projects.
• Supervise daily workload and ensure FAA compliance.
• Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on aircraft when designated.
• Inspect and evaluate the aircraft and components when designated.
