Job summary

West Star Aviation in Chicago, IL is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to lead a team of technicians in delivering high-quality maintenance and repairs on time. This on-site role requires strong leadership, hands-on mechanical skills and a focus on safety and FAA compliance.

Ideal candidates will have an Airframe and Powerplant license, 8+ years in aviation maintenance, and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Airframe and Powerplant License required.
• Valid driver’s license or passport ideal.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians to deliver high-quality work on schedule.
• Turnover work to the next shift and mentor technicians.
• Coordinate multiple projects and manage workload distribution.
• Perform general mechanical work on aircraft and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems as designated.
• Ensure FAA guidelines are followed and document work orders.
