Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to head a team of technicians in a hangar environment. You will lead projects, perform mechanical work on aircraft, troubleshoot systems, and ensure FAA paperwork is completed accurately.

Strong leadership, communication, and a deep understanding of airframe and powerplant maintenance are essential. The role requires 8+ years in aviation maintenance, 4+ years on program-specific airframes, and a valid A&P license.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program specific airframes.
• High school diploma or equivalent and A&P license required.
• Valid driver’s license; passport ideal but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete required jobs with quality and on schedule.
• Ensure effective turnover of work to the next shift.
• Identify opportunities to reduce aircraft turn time within responsibilities.
• Train and mentor technicians assigned to projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload and project execution.
• Perform general mechanical work on aircraft and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on aircraft when designated.
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components during maintenance.
• Coordinate projects and communicate with customers clearly.
• Direct work orders and FAA paperwork; ensure safety and compliance.
