Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a shop team, and educate customers on repairs. The role requires strong diagnostic expertise and the ability to mentor colleagues to improve customer care and satisfaction.

You will work with a team to diagnose, repair, and communicate effectively with customers, while maintaining a safe, organized shop and adhering to company policies, with availability for varied shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from: A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, exhaust, electrical, suspension, A/C and more.
• Mentor and assist technicians to drive team performance.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs clearly to customers and staff.
• Pursue ongoing training to stay current with automotive tech.
• Maintain organized, safe, and compliant work area.
• Notify management of mechanical issues as they arise.
• Be available to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
