Job summary

Pep Boys in Fort Walton Beach, FL is seeking an experienced Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and to mentor a shop team. You will interact with customers, educate them on problems and proposed solutions while delivering superior service.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of automotive repair experience, multiple ASE certs (A4/A5 + two more), a Section 609 certification, and a valid driver's license. Availability for varied shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4/A5 plus two from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension and A/C systems.
• Perform duties of Technician levels above as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers in clear terms.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies through formal training.
• Assist other technicians and communicate issues to management
• Keep the shop organized and adhere to policies, safety and environmental rules.
