Job summary

Assurant is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Lewisville, TX facility to maximize equipment reliability in a highly automated production environment. You will lead advanced troubleshooting across robotics, vision systems, conveyors, and PLC-controlled equipment, mentor technicians, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

You will partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to reduce downtime, develop SOPs and PM procedures, and ensure CMMS accuracy.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience with automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems, robotics, PLCs, vision systems, motors, sensors, and industrial controls.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
• Experience using CMMS platforms such as eMaint or similar systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, robotic, vision, and automation systems, including KUKA robots, Cognex vision systems, conveyors, and PLC-controlled equipment
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring failures
• Serve as the primary escalation resource for advanced equipment and automation issues
• Analyse maintenance data and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and equipment performance
• Recommend equipment upgrades, design enhancements, and process improvements to reduce downtime
• Mentor and train Maintenance Technicians on troubleshooting, safety, maintenance procedures, and best practices
• Support onboarding and development of new technicians through structured training and hands-on coaching
• Lead daily shift meetings to communicate safety updates, maintenance priorities, and operational goals
• Provide feedback to leadership regarding team performance and development opportunities
• Coordinate maintenance activities and provide shift leadership when supervisors are unavailable
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure CMMS work order standards
• Develop and update SOPs, PM procedures, troubleshooting guides, and LOTO documentation
• Audit preventive maintenance activities to ensure quality and effectiveness
• Participate in Kaizen, 5S, and continuous-improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and equipment reliability
• Champion workplace safety through LOTO compliance, safety audits, and proactive risk identification
• Assist in developing JSAs and support ongoing safety training efforts
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure maintenance activities meet safety, quality, and customer compliance requirements
• Identify critical spare parts requirements and support inventory optimization efforts
• Assist with storeroom audits and ensure availability of essential repair components
