Job summary

CyberCoders, Inc. is seeking a Senior Controls & Automation Engineer to lead major automation projects from concept to deployment in a heavy manufacturing setting. You will program PLCs/HMI, troubleshoot robotics, and drive improvements in productivity, quality, and safety.

You bring 8+ years of manufacturing automation experience, strong leadership, and hands-on expertise with Star Automation, Yushin or similar robotics, motion control, and electrical schematics. On-site in Huntington Beach, CA.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automation, Industrial Engineering or related field.
8+ years of manufacturing engineering or automation experience.
Experience leading automation projects in a manufacturing environment.
Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
HMI programming and controls troubleshooting experience.
Experience with robotics including Star Automation, Yushin, and/or 6-axis robots.
Experience with servo systems, stepper motors, and motion control.
Ability to create and troubleshoot electrical schematics and control systems.
AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks experience.
Knowledge of pneumatic and electro-pneumatic systems.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

Lead automation projects from design through deployment.
Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and motion control systems.
Support the integration of new automated manufacturing equipment.
Troubleshoot complex automation and controls issues.
Improve production processes, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
Develop and maintain electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Design and support electrical control panels.
Validate automation systems and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
Provide technical leadership and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
Analyze production data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Travel to manufacturing facilities and suppliers as needed.
