Jobot in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Sr. Automation Engineer to own complex manufacturing automation projects from design through commissioning.

You will work across PLCs, robots, motion systems, electrical controls and manufacturing equipment, leading initiatives from scope to deployment. This on-site role offers an opportunity to impact production performance in a long-standing family-owned operation with facilities in California and North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automation, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years manufacturing engineering with automation/robotics; injection molding preferred.
• Proven track record leading automation projects from design to deployment.
• Proficient in PLC/HMI programming and automation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, commission, and validate automated manufacturing equipment and control systems.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robots, and motion control systems.
• Diagnose complex equipment and control failures to reduce downtime.
• Lead automation projects from scope through installation and vendor coordination.
• Design electrical schematics and control circuits; support panel fabrication and wiring.
• Analyze production workflows and data to improve performance and cost.
• Document systems through technical reports, drawings, and SOPs.
• Provide guidance and training while meeting safety and quality standards.
