Position Overview
Join a leading manufacturer investing heavily in automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies. This role will lead automation projects from concept through implementation, driving improvements in productivity, quality, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with industrial automation, robotics, PLC programming, and project leadership within a manufacturing environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead automation projects from design through deployment
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and motion control systems
- Support the integration of new automated manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshoot complex automation and controls issues
- Improve production processes, efficiency, and equipment reliability
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Design and support electrical control panels
- Validate automation systems and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal engineering teams
- Provide technical leadership and training to operations and maintenance personnel
- Analyze production data and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Travel to manufacturing facilities and suppliers as needed
What You Need for This Position
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of manufacturing engineering or automation experience
- Experience leading automation projects in a manufacturing environment
- Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
- HMI programming and controls troubleshooting experience
- Experience with robotics, including Star Automation, Yushin, and/or 6-axis robots
- Experience with servo systems, stepper motors, and motion control
- Ability to create and troubleshoot electrical schematics and control systems
- AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks experience
- Knowledge of pneumatic and electro-pneumatic systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Injection molding manufacturing experience
- SCADA system experience
- Database experience
- GD&T knowledge
- Experience with automated equipment design and integration
- International vendor or multi-site manufacturing support experience
