Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for an onsite role in Granite City, IL. You will design, program, and integrate automated manufacturing equipment, control panels, and cell architectures within a heavy industrial setting.

You will lead robotics integration, machine vision deployments, and PLC/HMI development to maximize uptime and optimize production efficiency. 7+ years in controls automation and strong expertise with Allen-Bradley and major robotics platforms are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a controls or automation role within heavy manufacturing.
• Deep expertise with Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000, ControlLogix, CompactLogix) and HMIs.
• Hands-on programming and integration experience with major robotics platforms (ABB, Kuka, Fanuc, Yaskawa).
• Proven track record deploying machine vision inspection systems (Cognex, Keyence).
• Strong background in electrical controls, drives (PowerFlex/Vacon), schematics, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and integrate automated manufacturing equipment and control panels.
• Program and optimize industrial robots for material handling and assembly.
• Implement machine vision inspection systems for automated quality control.
• Develop and troubleshoot PLC code and HMI interfaces to maximize uptime.
• Provide plant floor technical support for electrical and controls issues.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime and improve cycle times.
