Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability in fulfillment centers. You will lead controls projects, mentor engineers, and optimize MHE systems using PLCs, SCADA and robotics. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to improve site throughput and maintain cutting-edge automation.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, design improvements, and leadership in a fast-paced environment; travel and on-site work in VA may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years PLC automation experience.
• 4+ years PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
• 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic programming.
• 4+ years of electrical theory and automated equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply SME on troubleshooting and dive deep for engineering issues; support automation engineers to investigate root causes and plan actions to eliminate downtime.
• Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up, software teams, and Safety to optimize MHE systems and implement projects.
• Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, motor control, servo drives, frequency drives).
• Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance with maintenance/operations to address issues.
