Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and site throughput in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, mentor junior engineers, and lead cross-functional teams to optimize MHE systems, including conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/Automation or 4+ years PLC programming/automation experience
• 4+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in process/production environments
• 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience
• 4+ years of ladder logic programming (Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys)
• Willing to work flexible shifts including weekends/nights/holidays

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot engineering issues and drive downtime reduction in collaboration with automation engineers
• Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up Team, AFT Software, ACES, and Safety on MHE projects
• Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC, Ethernet/ControlNet/DeviceNet/Profibus)
• Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance with maintenance and operations
• Provide escalation support during and after hours to repair hardware or controls software
• Follow safety guidelines and climb ladders/perform physical tasks as needed
