Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operations in fulfillment centers. You will lead troubleshooting of complex control systems, mentor junior engineers, and drive improvements in MHE systems with state-of-the-art technology including conveyors, scanners, and SCADA.

You will collaborate across Operations, IT, and Safety teams to implement projects, monitor performance metrics, and optimize throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 4+ years of PLC/automation experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/nights/holidays.
• 4+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in process/production environments.
• 4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic experience.
• 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 4+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and dive deep for engineering issues, helping automation engineers investigate root causes and plan actions to reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with building Operations, FC Start-up, software, ACES and Safety teams to optimize MHE systems and implement projects.
• Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLCs, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, servo drives, drives, and distribution).
• Monitor MHE metrics and work with maintenance/operations to analyze performance across operations.
• Provide escalation support during and after hours for hardware and software repairs.
• Move up to 49 lbs, stand/walk up to 12 hours, climb ladders, bend and reach as required.
