Job summary

Amazon in Utah seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and performance in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze metrics, and drive improvements while mentoring junior engineers and leading cross-functional teams.

Work with conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA. You will develop system design improvements for site throughput and safety, with on-site, dynamic collaboration across Operations and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/Automation or 4+ years PLC automation experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays.
• 4+ years PLC automation and issue diagnosis experience.
• 4+ years robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 4+ years Ladder Logic programming (Siemens/AB/Codesys).
• 4+ years electrical theory and controls components experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply SME on troubleshooting and diagnose engineering issues to reduce downtime of critical assets.
• Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up, software teams, and Safety to optimize MHE systems.
• Understand and troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
• Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance to address performance issues.
• Provide escalation support during/after hours to ensure repairs on time.
