Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer in San Bernardino, CA, to maximize reliability and throughput of material handling equipment in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, mentor junior engineers, and lead multi-team projects across conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices.

Responsibilities include root-cause analysis, performance metric reviews, and implementing innovative automation projects to improve site throughput.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or 4+ years of PLC programming or automation experience.
4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic and structure programming experience.
4+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.

Responsibilities

Apply SME on troubleshooting and dive deep for engineering issues, supporting automation engineers to investigate root cause and plan actions to eliminate/mitigate downtime of critical assets.
Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up, software teams, and Safety to optimize MHE systems and implement projects.
Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address system performance issues and provide analysis across operations.
Provide escalation support during/after hours to ensure hardware or software is repaired on time.
