Job summary
Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize reliability and performance of material handling equipment in our Los Angeles fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze metrics, and drive continuous improvement across conveyors, sortation, scanners, and SCADA systems.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, serve as site expert for automation, and support 24/7 operations with a flexible schedule.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of PLC automation experience.
- Willing to work flexible shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Experience with ladder logic and PLCs from Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys.
- Experience with robotics work cells and control systems in production environments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, drives).
- Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address performance issues.
- Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians.
- Perform and analyze building System Assessments to improve material handling system performance.
