Job summary

Cambro Manufacturing seeks a Senior Automation Engineer with 10+ years in automation and robotics to design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing control systems. You will lead validation efforts, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement while upholding safety standards.

The role requires strong PLC/HMI programming, robotics experience (6-axis, Star/Yushin), and project leadership across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automation, or Industrial Engineering or verifiable/equivalent experience and vocational training in automation applications.
Minimum 10 years manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in an injection molding environment.
Ability to apply advanced math and statistics; capable of data-driven decisions.
2D/3D drawing on AutoCAD or SolidWorks required.
Knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5 -2018) and industry codes (ADA, OSHA, NEC, NFPA, ISO).
Travel to multiple facilities and suppliers in the USA and possibly internationally.

Responsibilities

Develops, codes, and commissions automated systems including PLC programming, robotics and motion control.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues to minimize downtime.
Manages automation projects from scope to deployment with timelines.
Validates protocols and ensures safety, quality standards compliance.
Analyzes production workflows to optimize performance and reduce costs.
Creates technical reports and electrical documentation; provides technical leadership and training.
Coordinates with external vendors for design, procurement, and installation of new equipment.
