Job summary

Globalchannelmanagement is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the end-to-end design, programming, and deployment of high-volume automated manufacturing systems. You will own medium-to-large projects from initial 3D CAD modeling through to PLC/Robotics programming, mentoring junior staff, and final factory floor release.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering + 7+ years in high-volume production.
• Proficient in PLC programming (Ladder Logic/Structured Text) and HMI development.
• Hands-on with 6-axis robotics, sensors, and complex mechanical controls.
• 3D CAD modeling with SOLIDWORKS preferred.
• Autonomy to manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Experience with YuMi, Denso, or Fanuc robots; vision systems Cognex, PPT, DVT.
• Background in the Consumer Eyewear Industry.
• Lean Six Sigma or SPC training.

Senior Automation Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the end-to-end design, programming, and deployment of our high-volume automated manufacturing systems. Core Responsibilities

• Machine Design: Lead 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks), electrical wiring, safety features, and component sourcing for assembly machinery.

• Controls & Robotics: Program and integrate PLC/HMI architectures (Ladder & Structured Text) and 6-axis robotic handling devices.

• Project Leadership: Manage a portfolio of automation projects, estimate costs, and mentor junior engineers/technicians.

• Continuous Improvement: Troubleshoot equipment to optimize factory yield, labor costs, ergonomics, and safety.

Requirements

Experience: BS in Engineering + 7+ years in high-volume production.

• Programming: Proficient in PLC programming (Ladder Logic/Structured Text) and HMI development.

• Hardware: Hands-on experience with 6-axis robotics, sensors, and complex mechanical controls.

• Design: Proficient in 3D CAD modeling (SOLIDWORKS preferred).

• Autonomy: Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects under minimal supervision.
